Taking Off
-Tracy Kraft - March 29, 2011
All too guarded,
The slightest tremble ties me up in knots.
Trusting
Feels like too big of a leap for me.
The forced urgency and passive importance
Leaves me glad to be taking off,
But anxious to be grounded again.
Safe, secure, sheltered.
Tense, head pounding, irrational thinking.
Typical distractions are no longer effective.
There's no turning back now.
A soothing voice calms the fear.
Not just charm, but perhaps honest, too?
For a moment, faith appears.
Belief returns.
Trust feels real.
Until the trembling starts again...
