AIDS is a cause that I have always been passionate about, but never more so than after my uncle lost his fight to the disease in 2004. As such, I do what I can to stay informed and support those fighting for a cure and prevention.
Some interesting statistics:
- 45% of new HIV infections worldwide are in people aged 15-24
- 1 in 4 people in the U.S. who have HIV don’t know it
- 900-1,000 San Franciscans will become infected with HIV next year.
